Default transmission gear problems

I have a problem with selecting gears. When my engine is running, I'm unable to select any of the gears. If I yank the shifter really hard it sometimes go into reverse. The strange thing is when the engine is off all the gears can be selected. I've had a (ACT) clutch in for a year and I don't think it's the clutch. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Sounds like a clutch master cylinder... check your clutch fluid level y0.
could be anything clutch related actually.

if your freeplay on the clutch is less than 1/4" or so, you may have that problem. Go under the dash and adjust the stop to allow for more freeplay. You won't be able to shift if the clutch is warm and/or rotating. With the car off, you will be able to shift.
