Re: shifting problems (shogokocoupe)
i think that i need a new clutch. i was drving earlier today and every time that i shifted gears and disengaged the clutch it would immediately jerk the whole car. it felt like it wasn't grabbing until after the clutch was let out or something like that. thanks though. which clutch do you reccomend to get. brand and type.

Re: shifting problems (blehboy)
Until you get it replaced, try double-clutching when you shift and see if that smooths it out.
I would be careful getting an ACT clutch, there were several cases where the clutch literally shattered either on it's first engagement, or within a week of installation. I am by no means saying that ACT is a bad clutch, just research that before you buy one.
I've heard really good things about the Clutchmaster clutches, but I have no personal experience with them.
While we're talking about clutches, etc... I have a question.
When the tranny and engine are cold (say, first start of the morning, when I'm going to work). I start it up, throw it in first, take it to about 2000 RPM and start to ease the clutch out. It will start to catch, then all of the sudden it will start jerking violently. the car will lurch forward, hesitate, lurch and so on, and the front wheels hop really bad. I can also feel the vibrations coming back through the clutch pedal. After several shifts or after driving for a while, it will stop doing this and will not do it again for the rest of the day. Any ideas what it is?
And it has NOT been doing this since I got the car, it only started in the last few months... Thanks guys!
