Im trying to put new gears on my b16 but i canot loosen the bolts, i tried banging the **** out of it but i stall cant get them loose.. Any sugestions???

secure the cam with a vice

 

the cams are still in the motor.. its also being held at the crank with another wrench

 

try using a leverage bar

 

as in impact gun?? dont have one =[

 

I just used a big screwdriver to keep the cam from turning, and used my weight to turn the ratchet.

 

i used a big *** vice, wrapped the cam in a towel, and used a big torque wrench. worked like a charm =P

 

Matco Tools makes a Honda/Acura-specific camgear holder tool. Costs an arm and a leg tho b/c it's a patented item. I think it's pretty nifty, but definitely not worth the price.

Mac Tools makes a universal camgear holder tool that costs $160.

 

dont impact hammer, you can twist the head off the bolt if its stuck. I know from experience.
