ever since i put my drag gen 3 on ive had a very bad popping sound above 7000 and when it starts to pop the car falls on its face, ive had people tell me that the flame was being blown out of the plug , so i changed them to a new set of the cold ones that import parts recommends and gapped them at 32 and it still does it, it is the 7 lb kit that i purchased from import parts, and when the popping occurs, the boost gauge jumps to 15lbs and my a/f ratio gauge reads lean, i have called Import Parts numerous times and all i get is mike, and he tells me i need to talk to ben , and he is never there , so i emailed him and he told me that all i could do was find someone near me and borrow there wastegate and see if that was the problem, sorry about rambling but i need this problem resolved before i blow my motor, oh by the way its a 00 gsr

yes im sure i didnt already blow it, it doesnt smoke a bit ,it idles fine, has good vacuum , it only skips up top

popping up in higher RPMs can also mean that you're running lean

I suggest you get it on a Dyno

 

yeah if its spiking you need to look at your vac lines and wastegate.. the car is probably popping due to detonation from twice the amount of boost that you have fuel available for
