Default car surging in neutral

ok i have had a problem for a long time with my car's ideal being messed up.It surges by it self all the time. I have cheacked the coolent level i have sprayed the vacum hoses with carb cleaner to cheack for leaks and today i spent 220$ on a new ideal air control valve and that was not it.if anyone has any other ideas please help me ,im about to go crazy!

Check and see if you have a vacuum leak somewhere.

i have the same problem. i've taken it to 3 different honda dealers, and they cant figure it out either. it makes me want to crash my car into a tree.

same here... after I took it to get the timing belt changed it started to surge. ahhhhh!!!!

take off the EACV and soak it in a can of carb cleaner for a while.

isnt the eacv the same as the idle air control valve,if not what does eacv stand for and were is it located on the h23,

Perhaps I can help I had the same _ucking problem, I thought i t was a vacuum line, Ithought it was the IAC valve, I had a hole in my flex pipe from bottoming out right by my 02 sensor causing it to rev and run rich in neutral. Maby that can help at least one of you let me know if it does.

well i had the same problem and it was indeed a loose vacuum line.... same **** used to happen to my old 89 prelude and my friends LS teg, i asked a honda mechanic and he said its a VERY common problem and that all they need to do is clean the injectors and taht should fix it...

to clean the injectors u should have a mechanic take care of that... tell them to give u a nice tune-up and clean the injectors... it wont cost too much either i think...

This might be something to check...

I don't know if you have an intake or not, and what year lude you have, but I know the line from the starting air valve on 4th gens run's ported vacuum (right before the TB). If that line is plugged, from using an intake, it'll cause the idle to surge, most noticeably when the throttle is tapped at idle speeds. Check it out..

what about the idle engine temp sensor, when that went bad, my 91 just kept going up and down. it's beside thermostat on 91, you canb unplug it by pass it with some wire, to test it. good luck

yeah i have an aem short on my car and theres nothing for that starting air valve to plug into so mine is just open to the atmosphere.. makes the idle a bit rough.. i pluuged the butterfly valve when i took out my resonator, it seems to have helped a little
