Hi,
I recently bought a 1996 Integra with a B18 B1 and GSR tranny. I am new to this and have very little knowledge or mechanical skills. My thoughts was buying another B18 B1 engine and rebuilding it. From reading I gather I will need: forged Pistons, rods, rings, valve's, springs, retainers, cams, cam gears, port and polish heads, intake manifold, headers, fuel rail, fuel pump, injectors. I have no idea what parts I might have missed or what brand of parts is good. I thought after it's build, having them also install a stage 2 or stage 3. Once that is done, I will start saving for a cheap turbo kit. My goal is get 350-400hp. I know rebuilding the engine isn't going to increase my hp by much. It will extend new life to my Integra though. I originally thought I could just buy a GSR and drop it in. That would get me 170hp but I read it will take a lot of work and changes that I don't have the first clue how to do. I know from reading some people would highly recommend the LS/V-tech set up. I don't want to go that way at all. I started looking in my area close Hagerstown MD for a shop who did this. I thought I found one and was all excited. I went there today and they informed me they don't build, install turbos. All they apparently do now is convert Honda's into AWD. That's bad *** an a option I want to do down the road but that leaves me in pickle. I tried googling. Performance shops. I came up with nothing. My heart sank😟🥺☹️ I am asking for help. If anyone lives close me or knows of any garages who do this kind of work, please please please let me know. Again i am close Hagerstown MD. Also I would greatly appreciate a list of brand name parts I will need to rebuild and possibly a cheaper good Turbo Kit. I am sorry I don't have a lot of knowledge about these cars. I absolutely admire Honda's, Acura's. I have since I was 18. I am 35 now. I have owned 2 other Honda's but both were SOHC non VTech. Any advice would be well received.
