Default Need help with tunning?

Hi so i have a 1991 honda civic si with original engine and ecu. It is a pm6 ecu and i know you can't chip it cause i took the ecu out and there is no where to put a chip. So how can i tune my ecu. I'm going to put an ebay turbo kit on it for fun and i was going to buy hondata s300. But now that i know my ecu can't be chipped what can i do? Can i buy a obd1 that has a hondata v1 already chipped in it. Or do i need to change the ecu completely? Is there a cheaper way to tune my car? What can i do?

You can buy an OBD1 ecu that is already chipped but you would then need to buy the OBD0-OBD1 jumper harness.

It will depend on the engine you are running. IF you plan to run a vtec engine then a p28 would be the best option. You can chip a pm6 as well, there are a few places you can send it to for this.

Ok so I have a d16 1991 Honda Civic still original engine? I know if this blows I'm willing to put a new motor in it my next engine will be a d16 again but a newer one probably a y8. So can I run a p28 on a 16 valve d16? And so it will work on the next engine or no?

you can chip a PM6 and run turboedit. I won’t say it’s “worse” than running OBD1 it all really depends what you can afford and are willing to do.

turboedit is the software you will use to tune like hondata, neptune, crome etc etc. in a nutshell you will need a way to burn ti a chip. a chip, either a demon or ostrich if your trying to tune "live" per say. check this link and enjoy the reading.
