Hi,
New to the forums. I lurk quite a bit and appreciate all the assistance y'all provide.
I have a 04 Civic EX D17A2 and when I was trying to get the Alternator out of it's bracket I wound up breaking the bracket. Turns out an aftermarket bolt was in there which was keeping the alternator from coming out, I thought it was just frozen in there. The joys of working on a car that someone else has worked on.....
So I believe the mount is actually a bracket correct? Do I have to take the upper timing cover off to remove it? Is there a how to? I searched but didn't see anything.
Take sockets and cordless impact (if available) to pull it yard. You can get extra bolts, rip up the donor car some if needed, and practice on that piece of junk instead of your own car. That part will take a while to remove but it least it won't cost very much.
