Tach issue with my 2000 Civic Ex B20 swap,Please Help😂
Gotta 2000 Civic Sedan and the tach doesn't work.It came with a B20 non v and was converted from auto to manual,if that helps.CEL light is on and cannot be read aswell FML.Has a Obd1 p75 and a stepdown, pretty sure a eBay one idk.Any advise is highly appreciated.

You will need to connect the ICM wire (yellow/green) either at the distributor or inside the car at the original ECU plugs to either the tach output wire at the ECU or the blue wire on the driver's side near the firewall that is taped to the chassis harness with a black rubber plug cover (this is the tach test connector). Now, IF you have an aftermarket distributor, it is likely that the igniter is too weak to power the tachometer and your wiring may be just fine. Get an OEM distributor and try again. Most ECU adapter harnesses have the ICM and tach output wire connected together already... so you can verify this just to make sure. It can be done there if it was accidentally omitted.

Come to find out,inside my dizzy the actual Yellow wire with the green line had a nasty rip.I soldered it, and now rpm is working as it should be.Thank you all.
Just so you know,if this issue so happen to you take a close look inside your distributor.Again thank you all.

Yes, that blue wire would have been the correct location. Glad you found that damaged wire inside the dizzy... since your tach now works, this means that your adapter harness is wired correctly and making the signal full strength corrects the loss of tach signal. Congrats sir.
