Default TPS trouble

I just recently changed out my tps now my 2000 honda civic runs like crap I unplugged it and it runs fine! Does this mean I have a bad tps again?

Did you adjust it properly? Get a multi-meter and make sure it reads .48v-.50v closed

No! You just need to calibrate it -- 0.5V closed throttle and ~4.5V wide open throttle.

Make sure you have the correct harness plug on the TPS. The sensor plugs are not mechanically keyed to prevent plugging them onto the wrong sensor. The one with a solid white wire goes on the MAP not the TPS. There is a sticky at the top of the forum with all the wire colors. It would be good to check the 2 wire ones as well.
