Default Diagnostic Issue: DSM 450cc Injectors w/ 10ohm Resistors -Stock ECU -No Start

So I'm building a turbo del Sol D16Z6, the thread is https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-.../#post51326193 .

I have installed a Walbro 255, which ran fine for a couple of days, and then installed the Cometic HG, ARP head studs, and DSM 440cc injectors. I didn't try to start the car after reassembly from HG because my buddy ruined a stock injector and it was spraying fuel everywhere. So I installed the DSMs, and when I attempted to start, it cranked unevenly, sounded like it wanted to start, but never did. Black smoke came out of the exhaust manifold.

I did my research, and it appears that I'm running rich, which would make sense because I'm running beefed up fuel items with no basemap. Would this be the cause of the no start? I mailed out my ECU today to Xenocron for chipping and basemap.

Please just confirm my thoughts if everything sounds right.

Thank you for your time.

Did you install a resistor box for the DSM injectors?

This^^ -- On the drivers side of the engine bay there will be a "dead" plug that will need to be removed and a resistor box will need to be installed to properly run those injectors. You can buy a PnP harness or there are write-ups on making it work.

Also, if you don't have any way of tuning for the larger injectors, they are dumping almost twice as much fuel in as your stock injectors were. I'd say this is mostly your problem. You need your fuel trim to compensate for the larger injectors.

I soldered 10W 10Ohm resistors inline.

But you are still running factory tune? Its not going to run. Its sending fuel as if there are 240cc injectors in there and you've almost doubled the flow.

YES! Don't run the engine anymore, you'll easily flood the rings and cause even greater issues. Time for some management.
