Oil burn after initial startup
My question is, is it the motor (rings?) or is it the turbo (not draining properly?)
It's a DOHC ZC 1.6 stock motor
TE04H turbo, homemade kit, short drain to the pan about 2" drop.
I get some oil burning when the car has been driving for 30mins or more, the hotter it gets, the more oil it burns.
I parked the car about 6 months ago for winter, now I've done an oil change on it, and then I started it for the first time and after about 5-10 seconds it started to burn a solid cloud of oil smoke out the back which is not typical for the car, the startups are usually the cleanest since the turbo and motor are both cold.
What could this be a sign of? could the oil have pushed past the rings of the motor prior to parking it and the engine is burning the oil or could it be the turbo?
To me, the turbo wasn't hot enough to burn up oil that quickly after a startup so I suspect the motor might be at fault.
