Default Hi, new user! Recently purchased a turbo set up for my b20b

Hello all my name is damien and I have recently joined this site to be apart of the community I currently live in tampa FL. So I bought a 93 integra 4dr off my neighbor with a b20b swap 30k miles with paper work runs and drives but automatic I bought it for 300 bucks along with some misc suspension goodies. I have plans to turbo the car I know all the stories of the b20 sleeves not holding up etc etc I purchased a turbo with GReddy turbo manifold, down pipe the turbo is a internal wastegate one the guy told me jt is a garret dual ball bearing turbo but he changed the turbo housing he included the old housing which is stamped saying its garret etc i purchased this set up with brand new front mount intercooler for 200$ it has no in and out shaft play my question is i have noticed oil or something coming out of the exhuast side of the turbine by the wheel that i have not noticed when i purchased and i took my time looking at it when bought and did everything a friend of mine told me to ensure its a good turbo but im new to boost so is this issue normal or do i now have a 200 dollar paper weight lol. Im sorry in advance if my knowledge isnt at everyone's level and sorry for the long story lol thank you to all who chime in and help out it is greatly appreciated and I hope to make some Honda tech friends in the process!

its def not a paper weight, there could be multiple reasons theres oil there.
one would be whoever was running that turbo didn't have a good drain system so it puddled up and backed up frequently, or the piston ring inside the turbo is bad, which isn't a big deal, you can rebuild that turbo yourself with a kit off ebay, there's plenty of vids on how to rebuild a garret turbo.
to be on the safe side i would freshen it up.

you can run it as is, but the question is do you want to go through all the work, just to find out you have to add 1/2 qaurt of oil every other day because the ring inside the turbo was leaking?

possibility that the rings good i couldn't tell you just by looking at that picture, used turbos often have soot on the exhaust side.

but whenever i buy a used turbo i would freshen it back up, to insure it doesn't leak, its extremely easy job, if you're not comfortable take it to a diesel shop i have no idea what they would charge you though, you could do it yourself for 60 bucks roughly

Thank you for the helpful info. I really appreciate your quick replies. I'll be ordering a rebuild kit tonight and go from there!
