Default Driving with Turbo - Turbo owners please read

I tried searching, but didn't get enough information to understand how it would work..

Some of my highway driving involves cruising at 4500-4900rpm due to low gearing.. From what I understand, there won't be full boost on partial throttle, but will there be any at all? Since all I'm doing is cruising..

What I plan to purchase so far:

T3/T4 60 trim .54 or 57 trim .48
4spi boost
Hondata S100 or S200
440cc injectors
Some Dual Stage Boost Controller

No there will be no boost when you just cruising.

Boost only occurs when you are accelerating hard enough where the needle on your boost gauge goes past 0 and into boost.

hmm.. 2 differnt answers, let me put it this way then..

1. Is it possible to stay out of boost while just cruising on highway at partial throttle at around 4900rpm?
2. Is it possible to stay out of boost for street driving (up the hills including) while on partial throttle?

1.yes

2.yes

unless you get on it you really wont get boost, in my car it starts to boost by 3500 rpm +/- but i never see boost unless i gun it, right about half throttle.

1: Absolutely, no problem keeping out of boost if you're just cruising.

2. Absolutely, just keep your foot out of it.

Basically, the only way you'd have problems with boosting and not wanting to is if you're running an EXTREMELY small turbo, or if you've never discovered there's a throttle position between closed and WOT.

I'd say it'd have to be something like a t25 on an h23 or on a built b20. Something rediculously small on a rather large breathing engine. As long as you're going for ANY power at all, you'll be A-OK.
