hey guys, I just had a quick question for everyone. I just installed a turbo kit on my d16y8. the thing is, I ordered a chipped p28 ecu to put in right before tuning but I have to travel about 3 hours to closest reputable tuner. my wastegate spring now is set to 8psi which is around what I want to tune on. I will be using bigger injectors but im going to install them when I put the ecu on. ive got a fmu and missing link laying around. so my question is will everything be ok on stock injectors and ecu with fmu and walbro 255 fuel pump for now until I can get it tuned right? thanks

 

Get a base map for the bigger injectors and get it tuned. Its better to do things right and enjoy the car rather than half assing things and paying for parts twice.

 

Yeah I know that. That's what I'm doing. I'm asking if it will be safe un til then. I'm talking a matter of lke 2-3 weeks max and taking it easy. I'm just asking if the car was to see 8lbs on stock map and Injectors even with fmu will it be alright?

 

If it was my car I'd wait until it's tuned properly before it sees any boost. You could drive to the tuner with the stock ecu, map, and injectors staying out of boost 100% then just swap injector and ecu when you get there.

 

Yeah I understand that, that's what I plan on doing. But being that the turbo is so small it will most likely be hard to stay out completely when traveling uphill or something like that

 

Disconnect the charge piping too.

 

And toss the FMU and missing link in the trash on the way to the tuner
