I think I'm going to go Neptune over Hondata
I don't know squat about tuning but I'm determined to learn.
Been doing countless reading of threads in the search and a lot of people have positive things to say about Neptune and especially their support to the community. So I think I'm going to go with them over the popular Hondata.
I have a 98 RS so it has the OBD2 ecu I believe so I need to find a P75 ecu from my searches. Then I plan to start tuning the car while it's stock to learn a bit then I'm going to turbo the motor and tune the stock motor. I do have a Walbro 255lb fuel pump and some Grams 1000cc injectors. Should I go ahead and install them now or wait until the turbo goes on?

Meh I don't like the way Neptune is layed out and it's interface with the user. Hondata s300 all day but that's my personal preference. Price wise not really a difference. Javier and his guys provide all the customer service you need and the forum is a huge help after hours.
I mean, I say the cost 100% justifies netpune over hondata. They both basically do the same thing, and have similar features (especially for a street build)
I have to agree with justin about the interface however, it's kinda annoying having so many windows with neptune.

Maybe I should look more into Hondata. I do like the blue tooth wireless...

Why not AEM?
Higher cost initially but all the features you have to pay extra for in other systems like hondata already built in.
I am not 100% sure but you may not even need to convert down to obd1 to use it either so there is some cost savings there as well.

Maybe if I was a seasoned tuner. However a lot of people use both Neptune and Hondata so when (not if) I have a ton of questions I can search or ask and more than likely and hopefully find the answers.

Oh another question: Here Hondata S300 - Obd1 ECU Tuning Solution - Phearable.net
It shows installed into non-vtec ecu or installed in vtec ecu.
Well I have a non vtec car now but I plan to build a vtec engine to drop in it later. Could I get the vtec ecu, use it now and cut off the vtec or what?

Exactly what I'm running, believe I got it for around (480?) chipped p28 with neptune and demon2. Disabled vtec for my b20. Used condition but works like a charm
VTEC ECU +s300 + PWM/BBG (installed) + 4 port solenoid = $745 +shipping
Neptune interface and other issues are definitely not worth the savings over hondata.. I haven't had one issue from hondata in the last 4 years.. this is coming from someone who owns both units.. my vote is hondata hands down
The interface is a little clunky, but by no means is it that bad. I cannot speak for stability issues however, but for many it seems to work well.
personally I would go hondata s300 for quality.... If you want to just get by.....
Crome is also an option which many have had success with. Out here in Cali, I have not ran into someone who has used neptune yet.......

Either system is fine, and a lot has to do with preference.
BUT if you are trying to learn how to tune, you will notice that most DIY'rs start with Hondata. There are many more users that are willing to share their info on with the Hondata platform.
