Default 2000 ek h22 swap

I've read all the threads and still haven't found much help on the 97 Obd2a h22a4 engine into a 2000 obd2b Honda civic ek I'm trying to leave my 16y8 harness and only trying to couple the dizzy couple the crank sensor and extend the alternator wires I just want to know if anyone on here has done this and could please ever guide a fellow member. Thanks in advance.

No. Do it the right way dude, not some hack job using a d16 harness. Either get a nice harness specifically for the swap from Wireworx or Rywire or at least get an OEM harness for a prelude and make that work.

The OEM Prelude engine harness doesn't work at all in your 2000 Civic EX, so ignore that suggestion. Modifying your stock engine harness IS the proper way to make a stock appearing engine harness... however, this particular swap requires extensive modification, so if you are not truly comfortable with wiring, and aren't proficient in soldering and heat shrinking, then your best option is to seek help... and HASport, RyWire, Wireworx, ChaseBays, etc. will be happy to build one for you. Quality Import shops can also be of service.

Well, if you do, there would be nothing "lightly modified" about it. First and foremost, '92-01 Prelude engine harnesses plug into the chassis harness in the engine bay, whereas, the '96-00 Civic engine harness passes through the firewall on the passenger side terminating directly at the ECU. This means that using the Prelude engine harness would require creating a sub harness that plugs into the engine harness in the bay, passes into the passenger compartment through the firewall, and terminates at the ECU with ECU plugs and the green dash/instrumentation crossover plug.

In truth, ANYTHING can be done with enough knowledge and money... but the Prelude engine harness would have to be the last available engine harness on the planet before I would build the harness for a H22A Civic in this manner.

Post some pics of your engine harness TracerAcer... I would be curious to see how yours was created.

Perhaps I am wrong then. I was told it was a Prelude harness with a few wires lengthened here and there. But the wires going to the ecu in the cabin look stock, so idk. I've done almost all the work on my car but the wiring harness was one thing I didn't do

Yeah, if the ECU plugs look stock and unmolested inside the car... you don't have a Prelude engine harness. Many shops prefer to keep some of the trade secrets to themselves, and likely didn't share the truth with you.

Using the stock Civic engine harness will require some adding and lengthening, and if you use a P28 ECU with a tuneable engine management solution, you can keep the added wires to a minimum.

I built my first H22A Civic engine harness in August 2002... and have built many since then. I have built them for stock ECU's, which are far more extensive since you have to integrate the EGR and emissions related systems into the engine harness. It is far cleaner to build with only the basic required sensors, and since my state doesn't have emissions testing, I can create a clean engine harness AND meet the requirements of the engine... all without a CEL/MIL.

I have 2 extra plugs I'm not using for sure, IACV and power steering, I don't have an EGR but I can't remember if they wired in that plug. Still looks pretty clean. No emissions in my state either, Neptune takes care CELs

I used a D16Y8 harness in my 96' hatch with an H22 in it just fine. Extended wires for the alternator and modified the reverse sensor plug and everything else fell into place without an issue.

Seems like I give one misinformative post a year, I knew I couldn't get off easy this year but I was so close right?

Whatever, doesn't look like OP is coming back anyway
