H22 EK Civic-- Wiring Question
Hey, since I have a Prelude ECU and a Prelude H22, why can't I use a Prelude engine wiring harness and just plug n play? Is there any reason? Thanks guys!!!

Re: H22 EK Civic-- Wiring Question (mitsuman90)
cause it wont plug into the ek harness, the ek harness actually has no plugs besides the ones inside the car and the drivers side. It comes out when you pull the engine.

Re: H22 EK Civic-- Wiring Question (infinkc)
Hey man, can you clarify a bit? So the engine harness is a 2 piecer? I don't think I have either one. I bought the car with no engine, and subsequently no harness. I have several harness clips where the ECM should be. There's one normal one, and 2 green and 1 brown one, I think. In the engine bay, there's one clip, round, about the size of a silver dollar, that goes through the firewall, but that's on the driver side. I don't know what that is, either. Is that an/the engine harness clip place? The ECM only has one plug in place, which, I'm told, is the cabin harness for the computer. The other two go to the engine, which are missing. Did that make sense at all? Please help, guys, I'm really getting confused here.

use the harness designed for the car....and modify it to fit the engine.
Thats the best way to make sure that the harness matches all teh right wires/sensors/indicators.

Dude, get a 96-98 Civic EX engine harness.

It's mostly for B swaps but the wiring is the mostly same for the H22a.
If you have an OBDI ecu just get the OBDII to OBDI ecu harness so it'll all plug up correctly.
All Hondas are use two piece engine harness, the EK is a one piece and therefore you HAVE to use a Civic harness.
If you have a 96-98 Civic and want to run a Vtec motor, use the 96-98 EX harness.
If you have a 99-00 Civic and want to run a Vtec motor, use the 99-00 Si harness.
If you don't use Vtec, you can just use the CX/DX harness that came in the civic.
It's very simple, really.
