Is this a legitimate B16A3 engine serial number
Hello all,
Just received delivery of a 1995 del sol I bought from eBay. Car looks ok but engine has an oil leak which I intend to get addressed. Before that though, my research on serial numbers for B16A3 does not match the what this engine's serial number is. At first I thought it said S3XXXXX but upon closer look, I believe the 1st digit is a "6" so SN is 63XXXXX. Is that right? The seller claims the engine and tranny are original to the car. Is what he claims true?
Thanks in advance!

Concern is more about the serial number, specifically if the 1st two digits are legitimate for a 1995 del Sol VTEC...

I may have found my answer. There's an engine on eBay for a 1995 del Sol VTEC with serial number that looks like mine... Whew...

Either way it's not like there's someone out there counterfeiting B16 engines. As long as it's not a SOHC and it has a VTEC solenoid, it's got to be authentic. Original to the car is a different story. A Del Sol VTEC will have EG2 in the VIN.
