Default 2000 Civic tossing up codes

I just completed an engine swap from a 98 Civic, d16y7 into my daughters 2000 Civic d16y7. The engine ran great in the 98, only 134,000 klms, now it's at idle speed the rpms are flocculating, first codes to come up were 0132, and 0113. I cleared these codes, hoping they appeared because of the recent engine transplant, restarting the engine the code 0505 posted, after searching the Fact logs here, it appears that cleaning the AICV should clear up this issue, just wondering if anyone has anymore insight to share, or other possibilities to explore, thanks Simers....

So the donor and recipient cars are both DX/LX trims? Do they both have the same transmission type (automatic vs standard)? Are you using the complete motor, with the '98 intake manifold and throttle body, or did you swap on the '00 intake manifold and throttle body?

Both vehicles are the same, ex models, automatics, and I used everything from the 98 vehicle except for the distributor, the harness receptacle was different than the 2000. The 2000 ran as well, except the head was severely warped, beyond repair, hence using everything off the 98.
Thanks for any insight...simers

Also installed new Felpro intake, and exhaust gaskets..

Uh, if they're both EX, then they should both have D16Y8's, not D16Y7's. Let's make sure we have your engine correct before we move forward. Double check yourself on that, and make sure the motor you pulled out was a Y8, and the motor you put in is a Y8. Did you get the intake manifold gasket for a '98, or a '00?

y7's were never available for the ex model. Please double confirm.

Bleed the system, adjust idle speed and relearn idle.

The 2000 Civic was a d16y7, the 98 was also a d16y7, both the engines are identical, except for the distributor harness plug in. I'm positive the 2000 had the original engine in it, as it was purchased from the original owner, whom is a friend, I don't think this being a Canadian car would make a difference, but I'll pull both engine block numbers and run them tomorrow, but as I stated, they are identical, and the gaskets were purchased for the 2000. Thanks simers

What is the 6th digit of the VIN for both cars? 6, or 8? Are they both the same, or is one 6 and the other 8?

I'm going out to my shop to check now, just looked on Wikipedia and the 1998 - 2000 ex model in Canada came with the dy6y7 engine, in that trim level, I'll check the vin's....

Damnit Canada...

Well, on the plus side, that means we can rule out air assist, since that's only in the Y8. The part numbers for the 98 and 00 Y7 4AT IACVs are different. I don't know why, but I'm not going to question Honda. Remove the IACV from the old '00 motor, and install it on the new '98 motor. Do yourself a favor while you're in there, and replace the gasket. Once you've done that, bleed your coolant, reset the ECU, and see if the code returns.

Okay...so replace the gasket on the IACV unit itself....very much appreciated, and I'll get on it first thing tomorrow morning, and post the results, thanks again, Simers...

Not just the gasket on the IACV. Also use the IACV unit itself off of the '00 engine that was originally in the car. I'm sure Honda uses a different part number for a reason.

It just goes to show that, when a poster follows the rules and basic netiquette, and answers questions directly, I can be extremely helpful
