Help a newbie out. Transmission parts question.
Hey guys I have a 1992 civic si hatch that I daily drive. Pretty sure the throw out bearing is shot. (Alot of noise coasting with the clutch pushed in while in gear. And It started engaging way too far from the floor.) This car is a beater, it's has 300,000 miles on it so I don't want to spend alot of money. What should I expect to pay for a clutch kit? I want the disk, pilot bearing and throw out bearing. Any brand to stay away from? How long should this take? I do have a lift.

Exedy Clutch kit, should have clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and alignment tool. Last time I bought one it was about $100-$120. Can be done in couple hours depending on how familiar you are with everything.
FYI Exedy clutches are made by Daikin, which also makes the OEM clutches.

Replace the entire clutch once you have the transmission out.
I'd also recommend that you check the input shaft bearing and crack open the transmission and clean the metal shavings off the magnet.

Protip: Unbolt the slave cylinder from the trans, and unbolt the bracket the holds the flex line to frame rail, the swing it up out of the way, no need to disconnect the line from the slave cylinder and have to bleed the clutch this way. Also if you think the rear main seal might be leaking now is the time to do it since you'll be able to get at it easily.
You can very easily do this in a day with the right tools.

While you're in there, it's also worth mentioning that the flywheel isn't part of a clutch kit, but must be either replaced or resurfaced. This is a required part of a clutch job. Any compitent machine shop should be able to resurface it for you, and it shouldn't be too expensive. Expect to pay ~$60.

It really isn't. I've never bothered with it, when I worked for Honda we never resurfaced flywheels either. The odd time I've had one that was damaged I'd just replaced it with another one since it was usually a D-series and I had lots of them. Generally just scuffing them up with some 180 grit sandpaper and then cleaning them up with some brake clean is fine. There's nothing wrong with doing it, but the worst thing that can happen is you end up with some minor clutch chatter.
