Icon5 D16Y8 Head on Y7 block

I've read over a dozen threads but I seem to be confused on something...

98 DX hatch with a 100% stock Y7 motor in it. Auto transmission. If doing a Y8 vtec head swap, which intake manifold would I want to use? I have read about some of the differences between the auto and the manual one and about sensor mounting points on them and all but am confused one which one would be used.

To make this swap work correctly, which intake manifold (and what year) should be used for this with the auto tranny? And what TB should be used? Y8 or keep the Y7? And last but not least, would the automatic ECU matter if it's 96-98 vs 99-00?

Thanks.

Right. The ECU will throw transmission codes. OP would also need to install a knock sensor.

in other words, op, don't bother unless you plan to swap to manual. a y8 intake manifold will help a bit, as will converting to an actual exhaust manifold/ under car cat converter instead of the horrible cat manifold you have now
