Default d16y8 manifold swap quick question

since the d16y8 mani swap on a d16y7 head requires a tb mounted IACV, is it possible to just use an AUTOMATIC d16y8 manifold and throttle body on my d16y7 since the auto y8 manifold has a tb mounted iacv and also has the manifold iacv holes already plugged up?

Yes, the auto Y8 manifold would work. I think you should be able to use your Y7 TB with it as well.

the manual y8 manifold has tha iac on the mani, i think it should be fine if u leave it on and just put the y7 tb on (not sure). i seen some people just plug the holes for the iac on the mani. although i would suggest just using the auto mani and tb. (by the way, i do have a 2000 y8 auto mani and tb for sale)

I did the Y8 manifold swap on my Y7. I just used the Y7 throttle body, works fine, the Y7 and Y8 auto throttle bodys are the same as far as i can tell. One note on the Y8 auto manifold. There is a set of vaccum holes in the manifold just above each of the intake ports that runs to the fuel injectors, I think is something for emissions, not sure really. Anyway, you'll have to plug those holes or you'll get a vaccum leak. I just tapped them and plugged them with some allen screws and locktite.
