98 DX Hatch, 100% stock D16Y7, automatic tranny.

The car will randomly stall while I'm driving and when it does, all the electronics will turn off with it. Radio, lights, blinkers won't work, speedo dies. After about 10 seconds or so, all the electronics will come back on but the car won't always start again right away. Sometimes it will start right up again but most of the time I have to wait anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes before it will start.

When it fails to start, it will actually start for less than a second then immediately stall again. It will fire a few times then just die - it will continuously do this unless I let it sit and wait.

Notes:
1. 4 month old distributor
2. Replaced main relay and I can hear it click on the (II) position.
3. Ignition switch is starting to go bad (doesn't tell me when the charging system is or isn't working but no other issues with it)
4. Stalls started out happening only randomly maybe twice a month but is now happening more frequently.

So what is causing these stalls? Why would the electrical system fail with it? Any ideas?

When the engine stalls and electrical power is lost, do the hazard lights and horn work?

The only 2 things I haven't checked lol. I'll get back to you on that as soon as it happens again.

If they also don't work, then clean and tighten the battery connectors and also the battery ground connection to the chassis.
