Crome fuel cut and ignition cut when overboosting?
Hey guys, since crome doesnt have a boost cut option, would it work if I run a 3 bar map sensor and say if I run 15 psi, if I cut fuel and ignition at the 18psi cell, would it work the same as a boost cut when overboosting?
Crome has boost cut...Which version of crome are you using?
And what does tuning have to do with over boosting? How does tuning prevent a vaccum line from coming off the wastegate?

Overboosting is more than a line coming off of the wastegate. You call it "creep".. Its still an overboost condition. A boost controller, tuning with appropriate ignition timing is what prevents that in addition to wastegate size relative to the turbocharger used..
Heh. More to life than just a vacuum line

Im using crome gold, is the boost cut the "cold boost limit, warm boost limit" option? I would like it as a safety measure to save my engine. Even if i got the best tune in the world, it wont stop a wastegate from going bad
Yes, cold and hot boost limits in crome will engage boost cut. But keep in mind it doesn't read that accurately unless you're exactly at sea level, because it's Crome. So it may be higher than the number you put in there, especially with an aftermarket MAP sensor.
Also keep in mind that every time you hit boost cut, it's lean burning and your engine is detonating. So try to avoid that.
But seriously this shouldn't be a frequent problem for you unless your wastegate is too small or you have a defective boost controller.
Cutting corners is a short-term mentality.

Then will it be better if i retard the ignition all the way at the psi I want to avoid overboosting? That way it will just flood the engine with fuel instead of lean burning.
Overboosting can be avoided without setting severe boost cut limits as VegasInvasion stated. You get too conservative with timing in the fear that something goes wrong, and in fact, that's what will happen anyway.
Like everyone else said, buy a quality wastegate. Anything else is plain dumb.
The setting is there with the intention of hitting a cut one time, then stopping and fixing the problem.
