Tial 44mm wg+Full Race Mani = Boost Spike!!!??
already did a search. now, i have a Tial 44mm WG with a 1.0 bar spring on a Full Race Manifold. Off the WG spring boost hits 23 psi. WTF!!! there are no leaks anywhere and the Boost Controller is set up properly. what could be the problem?

how are your lines hooked up the boost controller and gate, does it spike without the controller? what boost controller?

do you have the vacuum lines hooked up right? The vacuum line goes to the bottom port, and the boost controller goes to the top port

take the boost controller completely out of the picture and just hook the bottom port of the wastegate up to the port on the turbo. I guarentee all you see is 1 bar. If it still goes to 23 psi after you do that, then we've got problems.....but give that a shot first.

top port goes to bc. side port is tee'd off to the compressor and bc. yes it is spiking with the bc off. profec A

Do you have any kind of a regulator with a gauge that goes from 0-30 or so? If hooking it up direct doesn't fix it .Check the spring pressure with the regulator.Just
turn it in untill the gate opens then look at how much pressure it took to open it.

broken diaphram?
your best bet is to contact Tial directly. they're helping me with some issues that i have with my 40mm Wg.
btw, i know someone else with a 44mm that is having problems. i'm almost ready to give up on Tial Wg's. i also had a problem with my 38mm as well.

y is the side port T'd off into the boost controller line and turbo housing?
try giving it it's own vacuum source instead and see what happens. I was told that the port on the turbo should only be used if there is no boost controller by Geoff at Full-Race

its only suppose to be T'd off when using Electronic or certain manual boost controllers. i don't know why its T'd off but i know the effects.
it helps Spool the Turbo faster by keeping the wastegate closed until it reachs the desired boost, then it opens. spool time is increased by at least 800rpm.

Re: Tial 44mm wg+Full Race Mani = Boost Spike!!!?? (b00stedbyFastrax) Updated!!!
well, checked the WG with compress air. the WG began to open when it saw 20psi. so i opened the WG and checked the springs. there was a small red and a large red spring which ='s more than 1.0 bar. On the box Tial stated it was a 1.0 bar WG
go figure. anyways, used the large red spring and it took approx. 14.5 psi to get the WG to open. From what i gathered, there are probaly bad WG springs giving wrong spring pressures. i have already notified the person who deals with Tial and hopefully he will bring this to their attention.

So the large red spring yielded approx 14.5psi gauge pressure? That is correct then. Because you have to remember that there is no exhaust gages aiding in the spring opening when you apply just the compressor air into the wastegate.
