Ok so i have a d16y8 motor in my 1999 honda civic ex obd2b. I have my sisters ECU that came out of her 95 civic dx. Its a p06 ecu that im gonna chip tomorrow aswell as convert it to vtec. My question is what basemap do i use with this ecu?? Some say d16z vtec and use that cam gear idk its all confusing. I cant even find a d16y8 basemap. Please help!! I been searching for days n no luck

 

You have a y8, whats wrong with the current ecu in there? Is it not a p2p?

 

It is an auto ecu. Im finishing up my manual conversion by drilling in a 2 wire IACV into the back of my auto intake mani and putting in an obd1 manual ecu with conversion harness. Plus its nice to have a tunable ecu

 

Xenocron.com can get you your Y8 map. You will need to convert to vtec.

 

Starting to regret not paying the extra $14 for a premapped sst chip smh lol thats where i got my chip kit from
