Default d16y8 with p06

i previously had a d16y7 non vtec turbo
i got rid of the car and purchased a 98 ex with a d16y8

i still have all the turbo parts and looking to put it all in my d16y8

my question is....

can i use my old p06 ecu from my y7 turbo on my y8?

will the tuner be able to convert to vtec or will the person that chipped it have to?

i dont want to spend uneccessary money when i dont have to

You have to add components to the ecu to convert the ECU to vtec and you also have to change the tune to turn vtec on in the rom.

So you will need both a new tune and the ecu converted.
