D16y8 engine + P2N ECU
I've searched and searched and searched and found everything from P2P/y5 engine combinations to auto-to-manual conversion questions. My question, however, has anyone run a manual P2N ECU with a manual D16y8 engine and tranny? If so, did you have to re-pin anything, etc?
If not, what are the differences? I came across a great deal on a y8 to replace my y5, but the ECU is already gone and I got shafted on hours at my other job, so I have to wait...again. So I can't just go out and buy a P2P ECU right now. I know there are differences, like wideband and vtec engagement and differences between VTEC-E and VTEC, egr, etc. but any help would be greatly appreciated.

its probably going to throw alot of CEL's that will cause the car to run poorly. im sure it would start and drive but i dont know how safe it would be...

Re: D16y8 engine + P2N ECU
On second thought, I'm looking at a Rywire Jumper Harness to connect my D16y5 harness (OBD2) to a P28 ECU (OBD1). I'm not worried about it being chipped or not right now. My main concern is just getting the car back on the road.
Any thoughts?
EDIT: Probably should streamline this. D16y8 engine/tranny + D16y5 harness/jumper + P28 ECU. To refresh, the D16y5 is what's in my HX, the D16y8 is what I'm purchasing. Not having much luck finding a D16y8 5-speed harness for a decent price.

I can do that. Won't be til after I get back to MD on Tuesday and have some time to work on it, in case you're on a time crunch. Hopefully by the end of the week? I will let you know.
