Default Need some advice on 1/4 panel, bumper and door repair

I'm pretty upset about this, obviously. I took my ITR out to work and it was involved in a hit and run. The insurance company is covering the damage and I cover the deductible. Whatever, it's going to cost me $500 to get it fixed, but that is not my concern right now.
I am worried about what needs to be done to repair it. I want it fixed to the same level of satisfaction as any ITR owner. The shop suggested, repair, refinish and not replace the quarter panel. Should the quarter panel just be replaced? What would you do it this happened to you R?

In total, the shop is refinishing the rear bumper cover, quarter panel, door along with handle and mirror, and blend paint to the fender. I am super worried that the paint is not going to match the rest of the car, but the shop is insistent. I have not actually booked it in this shop and will get some other estimates done.

Help me R owners, I need some guidance.

That's a lot of work for $500. The price scares me. Quality work costs $$

Yes, sorry. My deductible is $500 and the estimate was a little over $3000. Should I try to just get the quarter panel replaced entirely? Should I push to get the whole car painted so there is no differences in the paint job? NH0 is seriously difficult to match.

Damn, it looks like the same jerks that kicked my rear quarter in when my car was stolen found your car! I'm starting repairs on my rear quarter this week. I'm starting with a very talented paintless dent repair guy working his magic to avoid bondo. My car is in a worse state than yours and I have bumpers and panels on both ends of the car that will need painted anyway. So rather than trying to blend everything short of the roof my plan is to completely repaint the vehicle from head to toe. In a lot of cases paintless dent repair guys can repair even worse damage with no flaws. Do some research and decide if that is right for you. I will definitely not be replacing my rear quarter. Best of luck!

If your car is nice, I would prefer to keep the original panel to keep the all the vins on the car and not touch the existing welds on the car. My refinisher said he would do pdr first and then work on the panel from there, but it is a lot of work to get it to near perfection and pdr alone will not give you full correction. You need filler.

I would look for a place that specializes in high end jobs and knows how to rework metal. My refinisher does pdr, hammer and dollying and a has a miracle system to repair metal panels.

As for as paint matching goes, make sure the shop has their own paint scanner and mixer so they can do spray outs to find the correct variance so paint matches and blends seamlessly into the existing panels.

Don't bring the car to a high volume collision shop that is just going to quickly hammer it out and slap filler on it and call it a day.

Hope some of this helps.

Thank you! I will bring it to a couple places to get a better idea.

I don't think there are any ITR quarter panels left from the dealer. Shop around for different bodyshops, look at the work they do.
