Re: replaceing door skin (cxjon)
is it surface rust that can be repaired?i can't imagine in a year developing such bad rust that the whole skin needs to be replaced.
i don't guess it'd be too hard if you know what you're doing, but if you'll be getting a body shop to paint and finish it,i'd just get them to fit it also.

Re: replaceing door skin (TeamNextGenChris)
It depends on where the rust is and how bad
it is, like what TeamNextGenChris said.
If it is at the seams, um....I would just
replace the door. If replacing is not
a viable option, cut it out, weld, rust
seal it, lay mud, smooth it out, then
paint it.
If you had a shop/insurance do the skin
replacement, I would check if there is
a warranty. Reason is, a guy scraped my whole
passenger side while reversing out of a stall.
Had insurance take care of it. The shop replaced
the skin, but did a ghetto job. I went back 8 mo.
later because of surface rust and door skin warpage.
All under 1 year satisfaction guarantee.
Hope this helps.
