Tuning on stock ecu?

Hello All,
Been MIA for a little bit. Wondering if there has been any advancement in tuning for the stock ecu? I am currently running Hondata and a P28, but that makes my car unable to be read by any OBD smog machine. So I am hoping while I have been gone maybe there has been some advancement into being able to flash the stock ecu.
My evo ecu can be tuned for anything, so my hopes are high! Or is there any other options that will allow us to smog the vehicle?
Thanks.

Unfortunately, no one has come up w/ a way to this w/ the OBD2 ECU's... I needed to do the same for my 2000 Si, even contacted Hondata & AEM but they both told me the same thing. Which I think is stupid since Hondata makes programs for the K Series ECU's which you CAN put into older chassis w/ K Series swap & be able to Pass OBD Inspection. Wish they did the same for the Older style OBD2 ECU's aswell.

I find it strange that no one to this day has cracked the code/s for the stock ITR ECU.
I couldn't more. Even GM with their Ecotech boosted motors are fully tunable and work flawlessly. One local guy has an HHR SS tuned that runs great, makes 300/315 but the best thing is as long as the cruise control is in turned on the ECU operates in factory settings. Turn it off and the fun begins.

Ughhh....that was my fear. So being able to smog an ITR with aftermarket injectors is basically a no-go. I wish I was able to just swap the spare ECU I have in, but the stock tune with my current injectors probably wouldn't pass.
There are OBD2 Emulators available that you "could" wire to your OBD2 port but I don't know if that'll give you the output/readiness codes that you need.

I looked into this some and was told that there *is* a way to do chips for the OBD2A/B Integra's but the chips are Write Once, Read Many (WORM). Downside to these is that it makes tuning a PITA as you have to burn the tune, install the chip, and then see how it works. Lather, rinse, repeat. Compounding this is that the OBD1 stepdown harness/ECU is sooooooo easy that nobody has bothered to explore the OBD2 ECU's further. Why would you when there's an easy button option out there that leverages the heavily supported OBD1 ECU?

As much as I'd sincerely love to have a programmable OBD2 ECU in may car, I don't think it's crazy or odd that nobody makes one. Think about the small(ish) population of OBD2 Integra's out there. Then slice that into people who mod their car. Then slice that again into folks who actually mod their ECU. And finally carve out the folks who "have" to run OBD2 for emissions and refuse to go back and forth between an OBD1 setup and the stock ECU. *That's* their target market. The fact that nobody has engineered a solution is pretty much testimony that the market/price convergence for the product isn't attainable.

Newer generation ecus are required to be flashable and that has opened up the door for the off-the-shelf tunable platforms that you're seeing, but it wasn't required during that particular era. If anything, you probably have a better shot at making the newer K series ecus backward compatible (to B-series) than you do at making the obd2 B series ecu tuning compatible... but as stated, it has to be value added for the developers to put time and money into the 20+ year old platforms.
You can do some decent tuning on a apexi vafc vtec controller. It plugs in the obd port and when you smog you can take it off. I tuned my 98 gsr many years ago with full bolt ons and made about 198 whp on the vtec controller on the stock ecu until I upgraded to hondata. But if your running bigger injectors you will need to swap out injectors. Your best bet is to just have your bolt ons smog legal and swap in the stock ecu and injectors when you need to smog. It's what I used to do back in the days now I just pay to pass my car makes no sence trying to smog the motor cause it's fully built with no carb legal parts anymore.
