Icon2 Question about ECU remapping software

Aside from Hondata or Hypertech, what are other brands of remapping software work with the R18A1? A co-worker of mine that's a tech wants to try this other brand he just ordered. Also I'm new to remapping ECUs. Anything else I need to know about it?

Its a really easy way to blow up your car if you don't know what you are doing. The great thing about Hondata is their support and base maps that allow anyone to figure it out with ease.

The Hondata FlashPro is pretty straightforward for common upgrades (intake, etc). You can easily upload/reflash without any further tuning if only the common upgrades are done.

KTuner has a reflash system for the 12-15 Civic with R18 available, but the 06-11 market isn't yet released. If you aren't looking into doing this right away, it may be worthwhile to wait for the KTuner system to be released for your car.

What is the new system your co-worker has?

Hondata hands down... but then again don't expect much out of the R18 but it's still a nice difference.

I'm very interested in this as well, since Hondata told me they have no plans on making any remapping software for my platform (Honda Fit).

I'm sorry guys I was mistaken in what I thought I heard him say, he's getting Hypertech. But still don't know much about it, but he's testing it on one of his(09 R18) before he would do it on mine.

I highly doubt they wouldn't do it... Also the Fit just came out you have to give them time for a version of Flashpro for it.

I've talked back and forth with Ktuner as well as VitViper. I sent KTuner my ECU model number and everything looked like it was a go. I already ordered it and am expecting it very soon.
