Re: Need directions on how to wire in a b16a in a 98 civic ex
The secondary 02 is in the cabin harness that runs to the catalytic location under the car. However if he was using an OBD1 ECU it won't look for one and generally you can leave it in the same place as long as the header lines up to the stock exhaust.

Primary O2 needs to be extended. Not secondary.
OP....take it to a shop if you're uncomfortable with wiring.
For it to run, you'll need to rewire the distributor or get a distributor jumper. You'll also need to lengthen the primary O2 wires. The rest plugs in. You don't re-pin sandwich harnesses. The whole point of them is to be plug and play. But.....they're very fragile. So don't yank on the wires.

I Doing a 98 jdm b16a sir II Swap Useing the 98ex harness Running that harness to a 99-00 si ecu Youll need an OBD2A to OBD2B ECU adapter
So far everything was plug n play now I have 3 plugs left over n don't kno where they go lol
?questions r is this plug for the crank sensor? Looks like either evaporated purge or IAT. What color are the wires
Re: Need directions on how to wire in a b16a in a 98 civic ex
Ty hero. Yep I think ur right the first 1 goes to purge nxt to injectors on the fuel rails I was missing that.
Second plugs has to b crank sensor Yep have to do by pass
Third plug. Is I still don't kno lol. I bout si harness to help me out n that don't have it either
Hmmm Don't think it's fan. Will double check on that tho. Will post colors ASAP on that. Srry been Mia Holliday run arounds.
Re: Need directions on how to wire in a b16a in a 98 civic ex
If you can get the color code of those wires from each plug, but the 3 pin wire near the alternator could be the crank sensor plug, the 2 pin looks like the oil pressure sensor plug for the vtec solenoid, but since jdm motors don't have that and only have the vtec solenoid you might need to ground it.
Also do I do the ckf bypass on my ex harness?
I'm ordering a jumper on Monday hope there's a sale lol
Or do I do it on the jumper cuz I am running it into a 99-00 si ecu.
I kno I still need to tap splice my wires to make my o2 that goes to the catalytic converter.
I my question is I'm doing all this tapping n splicing on my ex harness correct???
N just plug that into the jumper. Then to the ecu ???
Tony u may right. U just reviewed the page that u had provided (hero) black/blue-black is oil pressure So just ground the black. N leave the blue-black clipped n tuck. U say tony?
98 jdm b16a sir II swap using a 98 ex harness and a 99-00 si ecu
Do I need to extend the 2nd o2 from the ex harness? Where is it located? Ty newbie here.
Your ex model should already have the secondary o2 sensor there, that is why I keep telling you its not needed. As someone stated you might be confusing the primary o2 as the secondary o2, that needs to be extended behind the engine.
For any b-series the primary sits behind the engine, for the D-series the primary sits in front of the engine.
sorry I just looked it up and tagged on to it. Sorry for the confusion guys I'm still noobie trying to navigate around n use the site. My apology tony. Again sorry
