Default Quick LsVtec question

Hey, I was just talking to a guy trying to sell me some pistons and rods for my lsv build. In a lsvtec are the rods supposed to be non vtec or are they supposed to be vtec rods? They're eagle rods with cp pistons, arp rod bolts going into my b18b bottom end. Is having non vtec rods correct ?

If your B18B short block is stock (un-modified), then yes, LS rods would be used. The important detail to keep in mind to answer your question is you use the rods that match the crankshaft... the two parts combine (crank and rod) to meet the proper height for using a standard "B" series piston. You can use a GSR crank (de-stroke) in your B18B block, but you would have to use the GSR rods as well, not the LS rods.
