Default 99 civic engine swap to non vtec

Code p1259 stays after clearing codes by fixing iat and o2 downstream. Thinking ecm v tec needs to see that all is well, thoughts?

The VTEC ECU is looking for VTEC and not finding it. Mystery solved.

Not to my knowledge. You should install the proper ECU for the engine, presumably a P2E.

Well after I got the car, the hesitation around 2000 to 3000 bothered me enough to put a code reader on and theres 3 codes,,, p0113, po141,po1259. So iat had a bad wire, o2 downstream heater bad fixed those and those codes are gone, great. Now just p1259 remains light stays but will it cause any running issues, starts, idles and highway fine otherwise. 5 speed 16y7 block now.

OP is so secretive. Must be James Bond's Civic. He went Non-VTEC after that whole octopussy thing.

Thats only if its auto. Y7 manual has 2 wire iac. auto as 3. When i did my auto>manual swap, i got the auto ex intake manifold. I put put my y7 tb on, and had no problems.. op needs to buy my ecu lol.

No....you're thinking of a Y8. All Y7's have a 3 wire.

Auto Y8's have a 3 wire
Manual Y8's have a 2 wire
All Y7's have a 3 wire.
That's why you use an auto Y8 manifold if you want to do a manifold swap on a Y7.

To use a Y7 engine in a 96-00 EX, you'd need a Y7 harness and distributor (or rewire the EX harness...including adding the 3rd IAC wire) and a Y7 ECU.

He can use the Y8 distributor as it'll plug in and bolt up fine. If he ends up using a Y7 engine harness he'll need a 99-00 Y7 engine harness as it differs from the 96-98.

Default p2p a12 in 99civic ex

Using this ecu with 16y7 non vtec gives code p1259 yes but does it actually cause any drivability issues? Anybody

The P2P ECU will run the Y7 engine but it will not run properly.
