First time attempting the polyurethane sealant for my mounts. My other 3 mounts rubber is still intact. My front lower mount's rubber pieces and the piece where the bolt goes through fell apart. Does the hole sit in the middle, up top near the MT or down below?

 

 

I've done the same recently, but I had a little more of the mount left to work with than you do.
Make sure you get that sleeve located REALLY close to perfect!
Since it will be solid when you are done, there isn't any forgiveness when you go to install it.

Also, some of the write-ups says to put layers of sealant to reduce air gaps and to dry faster.
Do not do it that way - the layers do not have any surfaces to get a good bond to and they end up splitting over time.
Tape off one side and do the best you can to fill it all at once.
Let it set for a day and remove the tape.
You may need to back-fill a little, but nothing too extreme.

Let it dry for several days.
I installed mine 3 days after filling the voids under the tape and then I took it easy for about a week.
After that, I beat on it and haven't had any problems.
I used the 3M WindoWeld which cures with humidity so I left the mounts outside in the sun and overnights in the dew.

 

How much has it increased vibration?

I used to put motor mount inserts in the front torque mounts only (EG) and the vibration from even just that wore on my nerves. Now I'm restoring a CRX for DD duties and want to keep it comfy.

 

I have used poly inserts before and filling with the 3M WidoWeld feels like about half way between a good stock mount and a poly insert.
There is some Loctite PL construction adhesive that people use and claim that it is a bit firmer than the WindoWeld.

 

Does that look about right?

Also for the other mounts, i leave as much rubber intact as possible and pretty much just fill in the empty space?

 

Well, I had my car up on a lift this past weekend and I'm not happy at all.
Both of my torque mounts are blown out again even with the 3M treatment.
My initial guess is that the center of the 3M product never dried.
Some hunting around on the internet says that it can take over 3 weeks and still may never cure!

I am going to pick up some cheap ebay mounts and give some 2 part epoxy urethane a try.

Have you seen the dog chew toy solution?
Same idea as the hose you used, but sacrificed the dog's pink chew toy.
Had me grinning!

 

i dont see why it wouldnt work with a cracked thru mount.

 

I can't say on the window weld, but I had inserts before and did not like them.
I bought polyuerthane at home depot and filled my driver and front mount.

It vibrates only slightly more than stock
