Default Question about installing motor mount inserts....

Hey y'all!

My Energy Suspension motor mount inserts just arrived today. It includes the lower middle and lower left/right inserts. I was planning on installing them myself, and I was hoping the instructions that come with it would be helpful.....but they proved to be very vague.

So, if anyone has any experience installing these, can you please give me some tips?
Do the mounts have to be removed to install the inserts?
or should i just jack the engine up a bit to relieve tension on the mounts?

Thanks!

PS- TO avoid excessive shake at idle, should i first install and try out the lower mid mount insert first? I think this is what was advised in previous posts.

The ideal way to put them in is to relieve the tension on the mounts like they suggest...put a block of wood under the oil pan and jack up the oil pan....yeah you have to take the bolts out of the mounts to put the inserts in. The front two mounts are pretty easily gotten to, but the rear mount is a bitch. Takes a little while. Lastly, there really isnt any excessive rattle at idle, you will feel a bit more feedback through the steering wheel, the pedals, and the dash vibrates a bit when its cold but nothing huge. The elimination of wheelhop when dragging is well worth it imo....good luck!

the do their job of keeping the engine stiff.. but its gotten to a point that I have ordered new stock mounts to replace them. Can't stand the vibration.. makes your car feels cheap. but if you like racing, they will help, mostly only off the line. If you dont launch rarely ever, its not really worth it in my opinion. Anybody wants some lower tranny and AC mounts with the inserts. sell it real cheap.

I replaced the rear ES inserts with Prothane ones recently (prothane = stiffer):

Pick up the prothane ones and do them first. THEN do the ES ones...
