cant remove roll pin
First time removing the shift linkage. There was no safety clip over it. Idk if I'm making progress, but I've been hammering it for like an hr and it hasn't came out. Used a 1/4 extension, used a compressor bolt, tried hammering it from the top but nothing works
I tried to do it the way you described and perhaps I just gave up too easily because it seems like it should work. but I found it quite easy once I purchased the correct tool. I got it at Sears and I think I it came in a set with several sizes. The bump on the end keeps it centered.
Google "sears 00943167000P" the set cost less than $20 they had it in stock at the Sears near me when I needed it.

If you're doing an engine or clutch swap, just unbolt it under the shift lever and pull it out along with the tranny. Its a lot easier to deal with out of the car.
Oh I didn't know it will come out with the engine, I thought it would get stuck under the car and bend. Anyways I got it out... Taped a compressor bolt to my socket and hammered it from the top.
I am having trouble removing the. Tie rods though. I got the outer ones off of the knuckles, but when I try and unscrew them from the inner, the whole thing just keeps spinning what can I do?

Bolt the tie rod back onto the knuckle, loosely. Then you can use another 2 wrenches to take off the inner end.
I already got the pin out.
And I did remove the outer tie rods like the above post- using 2 wrenches. Mine were really rusted together. Any tips on the inner tie rod?
