Default Header Comparison Questions

I have a 4 into 1 Header on my D16y8 and I am wondering what is the difference horse power wise between the 4 into 1 and the 2pc 4 into 2 header.
I have a full cat back but am interested to know which is the best for a horsepower or 2
Thanks

For a D series, there is no difference. You are gaining exactly nothing either way.

From what I understand how the headers affect power (on engines that it affects them) is the 4-1 header gives you the most raw horse power at the top end. The 4-1 will suffer in the lower and mid power band range.

The 4-2-1 will chop a very small amount of top end horse power and give you a significant increase in bottom and mid range power.

Essentially, the 4-2-1 header is a better daily driven sort of header while the 4-1 is geared more for the drag/track car that spends most of it's time in or near redline.

With most D-series the gains are so small it's considered insignificant.

In other words, no difference.

LoL, hey, sometimes 1 or 2 horsepower makes a .1 second difference which can mean the difference between 1st or 2nd.

May not be a significant difference but it's still not a dead zero.

That's old world speaking. With the majority of the long tube header designs out now you get the best of both worlds in one.

Hey that's kewl. So the nice long aftermarket 4-1's give you everything unlike the short small 4-1 that is stock on a D15B7.....

Glad to learn that. No lies, I appreciate the correction.
