Doing some front end work and really like black housing headlights. Curious about the fitment and if anyone out there has them and can vouch if they will be as flush as oem lights?

 

It's a hit or miss unless you can find a used set that have pictures of the fitment?....but probalby a long shot.

The only times I have liked the black housing headlights is if it was a diy paint job to the stock ones, which you already know they have good fitment.

 

If they are not high quality or OEM skip on them.

 

Fitment would be your biggest issue... Personally, i've always liked the stock look. But to each his own.

Fitment with the Depo/Eagle eye lights isnt bad at all. Problem is it looks kinda lame, IMO. I've had 2 EM1's and the chrome ones look better, IMO. Authentic CTR ones look the **** too. The CTR replicas on the red one weren't awful....but I'd rather have stock or genuine CTR.

 

I tried the black and after a month i went back to OEM and traded the black ones for something that i cant remember.

 

If you are going to do black headlights, buy a set of OEMs and paint them yourself, you will be much happier versus buying cheapo headlights

 

Just get the real ctr headlights
thats why this bs fad started, they were trying to copy the look of the CTRs.

 

CTR headlights are not black. They're gunmetal/black chrome. The small drawback of CTR lights is that the JDM beam pattern isn't optimal for LHD cars.

They're around $400-500+ and availability can be spotty.

They look and fit amazingly, however.

 

On red cars IMO black housing NO. Gunmetal or new oem chrome is best.
