I have a 00' civic Si
Really need some help/suggestions on how to fix my idle control, but hey I have no CEL on.
My engine does shake at idle when I'm parked.
But it idles highest at 1000 rpms when I'm parked.

I've heard that it's suppose to idle highest 750 rpm..?
Any truth to that.?

Or does this have to do with my IACV?
Any ideas or advice would be really appreciated thanks!

Can you take that picture with something that isn't a potato?

Is your idle fluctuating, or just high?

 

It idles high but not too much like I said it stays at 1k rpms but it didn't let me pass emissions test.
And also my engine shakes at these idles.

 

Suggestions?

 

youre only allowed to be in between 750 +/- 50. turn the idle screw to lower your rpm. if youre at 1000rpms now then just eyeball 250 rpms on your cluster and you should be ok

 

There's more to it than "just turn the idle screw". Download the FSM for your car, and follow the idle adjust procedure.

Follow the procedure for idle adjustment.

We aren't going to diagnose with nonspecific potato pictures.

 

Yea if the crew it's out ur tb it's all open put it back in half way play around into it's at 750 rpm the I there way it's to move the distributor left or right nd the timing to the ecu changes but too low ur engine will turn off if it does don't worry move it the other way nd turn it back on u can't damage a nothin as long u only loosen the bolt don't take them all out

 

Stop. Just stop. That doesn't even make sense, and once you get past how painful it is to read, it's also painfully wrong.
