I was to pissed off/dissapointed and gave up on it. I will check it with voltmeter in the morning and report back. From the research that ive done so far. It looks like the AEM ecu has a bad signal ground to the TPS and some other sensors.
I doubt its a ground issue, especially considering a bad ground would decrease sensor voltage readings. and 100% throttle is peak high voltage for tps signal, which would be very difficult to achieve with a bad ground.

Would there be an issue with the car having an Auto dash harness and the wires go to a different pin on the ecu? We just did a auto to manual conversion. We used my friends older AEM and it starts the car right up on the basemap that i put together using my old tune and putting 550cc evo injectors in it instead of the RDX ones. Starts up and runs perfectly. Thrrotle reads perfectly once calibrated. But once you put my AEM in there. Upload the same map. Calibrate it. It wont even fire the car up.
interesting vid. but that's not a bad ground, that's a bad AEM EMS.
no, the harness wouldn't affect it, all pins for all sensors are still in the same location for auto and manual.
so that being said, I still stand by my above post.

Here's another dilemma. I plug my black AEM into my buddies turbo hatch. We uploa his tune to it etc. and it still does the same thing. Won't start the car either. Plug his old Silver AEM in it and it works perfectly.
exactly, the aem ems unit is bad, even stated by the tuner in that vid that there is a large bad batch going around, and he was taking that vid as proof to show aem because they're denying it.

The thing is. This aem is like 3 years old. It's not like I purchased it brand new in box. My friend had it on his turbo hatch 3 years ago and it's been sitting ever since. It worked on his car. So what should I do?
I am having the same issue right now with a black series 1 ems.The throttle is at 100% and it doesnt see the T1 cam sensor either. The car just keeps cranking but doesnt start.I just got all my aem stuff back from AEM and they all checked out ok.
There are too many people using their stuff and making great power for everyones issues to be their fault.I am going to replace my tps and see if that fixes the problem.
did you watch the vid posted above? it's clearly the fault of the aem ems unit. he even states he's a tuner in that vid, and that there is a large batch of faulty units going around, and that he recorded that vid specifically to prove it to AEM.
it has nothing to do with making great power, it has to do with the unit being functional or not. and as said, there's a bad batch going around of units that do not work

I understand that and I am not trying to be dismissive about it.I have had my issues with AEM hardware but my ecu is 3 years yold and I have two other units that were flawless.A bad batch could happen I am just saying we dont have all the facts here yet.

The EMS unit worked fine 3 years ago. If it were bad it would have always been bad. Did you have the EMS plugged in while you were welding on the car? Did you short something out by accident. If it was working fine before its not a bad batch nor is AEM to blame. Call them and get a RMA to send it back so they can check it out.
Welding on the car with any electronic components made by AEM is a no no ask me how I know. Their servicedepartment is usually pretty good.

When ever I weld on the car. I unhook my battery.
I got a hold of AEM today. Gonna send it in.

I contacted AEM about this issue since I am also having the same problem.I was told that if the ems is reading 100 percent the electronics in the box are ok if the ems was bad it should be stuck at 0%.He told me to check all the connections for the tps and to check and see if the tps itself is ok.
