99 Civic EX Wont go past 5000 rpms -- need help
I just bought a 1999 civic has y8 in it cant pass 5000 rpms its like if it redlines at 5 grand any ideas would help

More details would also help. Did you really buy a car knowing that something was wrong with it? Any CELs? Any modifications? What ECU?

I ran into the same problem when i did my swap
i recomment checking the tps sensor and the map sensor on the theottle body, maybe even the whole throttle body is messed up
so for starters try to connecting and disconnecting the ecu that might be the problem
if not try replacing the throttle body with a buddies to see if thats the problem
and if you can switch out the ecu and see if it makes a difference
