Icon2 Engine swapping.

I have a 1996 Honda civic DX with a D16Y7. I want to swap it for either a B16A2, A3, or A5. I'm not sure if it would require any custom work(e.g. different motor mounts) Any tips, advice, or recommendations? I was also wondering, would a B18 fit? One of my friends told me that it would pull the axles off of my car, although it was probably an exaggeration, I would still like to know.

You've still got a lot top learn, a b16 and b18 are the same engine series and will both fit with no "custom work" needed. other then you'll have wire up the wires for VTEC yes you'll need B-series axels 1 pos b16 feels like a d series down low don't waste your money on one get a GSR(b18c1) or if you have extra get a JDM type R

Yea, I'm new to this. I looked up the type R and the prices are kind of steep. I assume for a B18 I'll pay around $1500. How much would the B-axles cost? and do I need a B-series transmission?

so you want the non VTEC b18 ? more like 1200-1500$ for a COMPLETE swap axels tranny engine ECU. what's your budget ? a jdm gsr swap can be had for just over 2K all in. yes you need a b series tranny everything you need will come with a "complete swap"

No, I do want the VTEC b18. I wasn't sure what the price would be. And I was thinking a type R would be hard to find.

Hahaha you asked if I wanted the non-VTEC. I do want VTEC, but I was thinking the B18 type R was rarer and harder to get.

To avoid any further confusion: I want a B18 of some kind. I was not wanting the type R because I thought it would be hard to find.

ok sorry just misread it lol, the b18c1 aka GSR is a great engine that can be had for about half the price and still have more torque then a b16

Ha that's fine. Then I think that is what I'll get. Now the question is, where can I find one? and axles and a transmission to go with it?

I predict that OP will do nothing. And wants everything spoon fed to him.
