Default Do i Need a complete Swap???

Hi guys . I have a 1997 Honda Civic with the Stock engine coded d16y8. One of my piston rods got messed up so is messed up. So im shepping for a new motor. Now i was wodering since the b16 engine is still a 1.6 could i fit it with my trnasmission that i have now on my d16y8 engine? So in terms do i NEeed to switch my tranny or can i just replace it with the b16 and it will pop into place?

you will need a new engine, tranny, axles, shift linkage, etc. from a b-series

You have a good ECU though, so instead of using that send it off to get chipped for a b-series

i would definately go with a b-series. more options that a sohc 1.6. usually when you buy a complete swap it comes with everything. that way you don't have to worry about much. try this website:

1997 with y8 is obd2. He'll want an obd1 sohc vtec (p28) ecu for chipping.
