Default h23a vtec auto ecu, how to make it believe it's in drive?

I did a ob2d h23 vtec swap in my accord, using a manual transmission and the auto h23 ecu, i am looking for a way to make the computer think it's in drive. At the moment it will cut out at 5000rpm.

I tried grounding the ecu pin #D9 as to make it believe it's on D4 but no success.

anyone made it work?

No. You need to get a manual transmission ecu. It needs to see a lot more than just D4 signal. MS input/ground, CS input/ground, etc.
