yes i know h23 is not "vtec" . Is there anyway i can tell what ECU it really is because the mounting post on the ECU also doesnt match up with the mounting points on the floor of the car ?

does the sticker say p14? or did somebody write p14 on it with a marker?

it can't be p14 if your vtec is working. it's possibly mis labeled.

and from what i can remember, my p14 and p13 ecu's both had the same mounting holes

I mounted my JDM H22 P13 ECU right where my H23 P14 ECU was mounted without ANY problems.

Does you VTEC work?? Where did you get the ECU from?? Did it come with your swap??

One simple way to tell is to look at the board, if it has IC4 (Circled in the picture) then it is a P13...

the ECU does have a IC4. The labels were ripped off the ECU when i bought the swap . My ecu doesnt look anything at all like whats in that picture though ????? i have been running the ecu and yes vtec and everything runs fine. im thinking maybe i have a p72 ? i bought the swap from a legit company so maybe they screwed me on the ECU ? thanks for all the help

Could also be a SK5151

It's a small 1/2" or so in size vertical "chip" with 5 pins extending to the board. If you don't see this, then it's a good chance you have the H23 non-VTEC ecu.

if it doesn't fit it's probably a p28 or something...when does VTEC engage?
