IM IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING A CIVIC TYPE R EK9 WITH A B18c4 ENGINE WITH A T04 TURBO CONVERSION..

WHEN THE CARS LEFT TICKING OVER FOR A WHILE AND YOU THEN BOOT IT THE CAR THRROWS BLACK SMOKE WHICH IM ASSUMING IS RUNNING RICH??

ALSO THE CARS USED 2L OF OIL IN 8 MONTHS

MY QUESTIONS ARE

1. WHAT CAN I DON ABOUT THE MIXTURE THE CHEAPEST WUICKEST OPTION UNTILL I CAN GET A HONDATA OR SOME SORT OF ECU TO LIVE MAP IT.

2. IS THAT NORMAL TO USE 2L OF OIL IN 8 MONTHS

ANY HELP BEFORE I GET THE CAR TO EITHER GET IT OR PULL OUT OD THE DEAL ..

Need more infor.
Bigger injectors on stock ecu?
Burning alot of oil can mean the piston rings are gone, valves bad, or blown turbo.
He'll even an oil leak. So it just all depends.

 

sorry guy said its got 550cc injectors and a non vtec auto ecu??

not sure how that ecu runs with that engine any iodeas thanks buddy

Is the ecu chip?
If its not chip then it's just flooding the motor with fuel, which can mess up the cylinders and piston rings.

 

The guy claims its had a live map on it? But I thought these ecus couldn't be mapped only chipped ? He also mentioned inside the car smells of fuel that's why black smoke one enitial foot to the floor then it clears

What would be ring/ cylinder symptoms other than blue smoke ?

 

2L of oil in 8 months? dude the engine is old. yes.

it could very well be leaky valve seals, turbo burning small amounts of oil etc.

I also don't know many people who go 8 months without changing oil

 

maybe a simple oil leak or even something big like bad valves.

the guy says the smokes only happens when cars been sat ticking over and when you first boot it only happens the once only. and says the fuel smell is only now and again.

maybe im being over precausious but just thought ide get your top advice first , the car drives and boosts very well and boy does it move. it starts fine , ticks over fine and like i say only gives one little puff if left ticking over for a while

 

Valve stem seals then.
The oil drains down the valves and into the cylinders. Burns off on first start up and then while everything is hot and moving it is sealing.
