Default Idle problem

My 1992 vx having some idle problems. Once I start the engine the idle would be very low at around 300-400 and after it warms up it is 1k to 1.1k. Ive checked compression on the block and it was 155-175 (IS IT A GOOD COMP?) between 4 cylinders, cleaned the heck out of idle control valve, cleaned Egr, cleaned Egr solenoid, checked timing and it was spot on, replaced spark plugs, check vacuum to egr and there was none on the warmed up engine while its passed 3k rpm. My check engine light would come on after 10 min of driving only on a freeway, but it will not come on on streets, code 12 (egr valve)
QUESTION: Did anyone had the same problem, and what did you guys do to fix it? Tnx

That's a 12% discrepancy in your compression test. Spec is 5%. Leakdown test, as well as a block test, should be next on your list to pinpoint the problem there.

I'm having the similar issues except I don't get EGR error.Only that mines bogs down as if it's gonna stall then jumps back up. Everything goes normal when it's warm. I think either 1 of two things could work. 1. Try doing a idle relearn or change the iacv. Maybe the ECM is reading a bad sensor and letting it not operate properly.

Your EGR sensor could be bad or clogged EGR line under the manifold.

I'm possibly gonna change my IACV. Sometime cleaning isn't enough.

retested my compression, added teaspoon of oil into each cylinder, reading were really close to each other in 175 range. Still issue with check engine light code 12
One more thing I noticed, when I drive on the street, no check engine light, when I get on the freeway at 5am check engine light pops up after 5 min of driving, but when I get on the freeway in the middle of the day in the 80-90F heat, there will be no check engine light at all. Seems kinda weird to me. Anyone had the same problem?

One more thing, when I stop to fill up or turn off the car when its warmed up it sometimes very hard to start the car up right away, I have to wait 5 min to attempt the restart. Fuel delivery issue? I can hear fuel pump primes.

Putting cooking oil in your cylinders while doing the test doesn't fix the problem, it tells you your piston rings are shot. They need to be replaced.

brand new fuel filter.
Ive put motor oil in there, valves might have stuck open a bit.
Its just weird that I only get check engine light in cool weather, not hot.

anyway, seems to me that there are only smart asses answering the questions that have no good info to add to the thread, but Ill help out the people that have similar issue with their idle, the Idle valve itself was faulty for me, replaced the valve and reset the ecu by pulling the fuse for 10 sec. No more idle issue for me.
